ATL – Against the League (see tables for info)

1. 2 Girls 1 Kupp (6-0)

Owner – Satwik Nandala, Vivaan Patel

Last Week – #1

The accolades just don’t stop for this team – first in points for, first in ATL, and without a shadow of a doubt will be a top seed in the playoffs. Week 6 was a slightly-off week for the best team in the league, going 4-7 ATL. Still it’s crazy to average 130 points per week, and like the results oriented owners, delivers consistently week to week. Depth may be an issue going into bye weeks, but expect this team to be the 1-seed in the league for a while. Gay Rights will come into town on week 7, a chance to become 7-0.

2. DoubleTrey Hotel (4-2)

Owner – Manoaj Kandiakounder

Last Week – #3

Business is booming at the Double Trey Hotel, as this team is the definition of consistency for the league, scoring a league second-best 122 points per week. This week was no exception in a comeback victory for Manoaj’s team. It’s truly unfair that Derrick Henry is on one of the best teams in the league, and scores multiple TDs per game. Added to the fact that several players were on bye weeks in week 6 suggests that the bye week bug may not affect this team in the slightest. As Manoaj no longer flies under the radar, I can potentially see this team as the only real threat to the current number one seed. Manoaj faces Ayush in what is likely the most important matchup in week 7.

3. Travis Scott (5-1)

Owner – Ayush Jha

Last Week – #2

Let me preface this by saying that this is a very good team, and I fully expect Ayush to be a top seed in the playoffs. However, there is a sense of inconsistency that this team brings, along with having one of the worst benches in the league. Sure, this team has the crazy scoring potential, but also has its down moments as well – like this year’s Chargers. This has to be one of the most top heavy teams in the league, but somehow made it work up. I think a downturn is due for Travis Scott – with bye weeks on the horizon. Without a TE2 on the roster, it might be difficult to plug holes if injuries start surmounting. The 5-1 record is really attractive, but I think a letdown spot is coming soon. Week 7 holds a HUGE matchup against Manoaj, likely the matchup of the week.

4. mcKISSic MY bASS (3-3)

Owner – Noah Rickles

Last Week – #4

Noah has been on a heater since week 4, going 22-11 ATL, ranking 3rd in the category, and having the most points for within the 3-3 teams. This team should be 4-2 if it wasn’t for the high points against column. Consistency has not been a terrible issue for Noah as well, and likewise, still found the necessary fuel to score 116 points in week 6, though in a loss with the Saints on a bye. Still, the loss reflects badly on the team, and currently blocks Noah from joining the true upper echelon of the league. Next week is another pivotal matchup against Chinmay’s 3-3 team.

5. Foster the Waiver Wire (3-3)

Owner – Chinmay Kulkarni

Last Week – #8

It’s been said a million times, this team is not good. They don’t have the stats to back it up, have the least PF in the league, has been 0-11 ATL two weeks in a row, etc. However, there has not been a single team in the league that hasn’t turned their game around so much, as Chinmay’s team. Since week 4, they rank .500 ATL, and is averaging 115 points per week, more that Ayush’s second ranked team. Week 6 provided a necessary win to keep this highly injured squad afloat with the absence of Nick Chubb, but can another week off for the RB1 prove to be too costly, especially as the bye week bug hits early with a Cowboy heavy roster? Next week is a pivotal week 7 against Noah’s .500 team.

6. Brady 4Ever (2-4)

Owner – Parth Patel, Amit Dommeti

Last Week – #10

Seems like the bad luck from the early part of the season has worn off, performing .500 ATL since week 4, and just below .500 for the season. I’m going to say it – this may be one of the most dangerous teams in the entire league. They’ve flown under the radar, are 2-4, but are steadily on the upswing. It’s never a bad thing to start Hunter Renfrow either. This team is likely, in it’s current state, better than at least 2 of the 3-3 teams in the league, and has a chance to join them in an important week 7 match against Keshav.

Award – Nikhil Ramesh D/ST of the Week/Top Score of the Week

7. Waddle House (2-4)

Owner – Nikhil Ramesh

Last Week – #7

This team has been a mixed bag all season long. Though Ramesh ranks around .500 ATL, this team is 2-4. Though he has one of the most points for, in the league, he has one of the lesser points against as well. Everything suggests that Ramesh should really be a 3-3 club, and has proven that since week 4, this team, that prides itself on picking up homeless people and placing them on the roster, can turn things around. Ramesh, likely gave the league 1-seed the best run in week 6, but still came up just a bit short. Though depth has been a running issue, don’t be surprised if Ramesh ends at .500, and sneaks into the playoffs as a low seed. The Nikhil bowl is next week and should be a great chance to make a run towards .500.

8. Cook out (2-4)

Owner – Keshav Ravi

Last Week – #11

The Cook out is back in business after a close encounter of the health inspection kind, being a team that has performed quite well since week 4, being around .500 ATL, and averaging 115 points since that mark. This team ranks extremely similar to Chinmay’s 3-3 team, and such should likely be 3-3 if it weren’t for the higher points against. The sub-middle of the pack roster had its fair share of injuries as well, and with an extremely bold strategy of starting D’Earnest Johnson on a short week is a gamble for a team looking to extend the win streak. Next week is a critical matchup against Parth’s also-up and coming team that went 11-0 ATL in week 6.

Award – Team of the Week

9. Gay Rights (3-3)

Owner – Arpan Bhavsar

Last Week – #6

Two straight sub-100 point losses for Arpan continues the downwards trajectory of the Gay Rights squad. A few ballsy starts from this week include Tua in London, which surprisingly worked out given coming injuries, and starting Jamaal Williams, which was a start that fell flat on its face. As the team with the highest standard deviation in point scored week to week, consistency has not been a strong point for this team, scoring some of the highest, and lowest points throughout the start of the 2021 season. I think this can be chalked up to the absence of Chris Carson, but some of the lower ranked teams like Chinmay and Keshav are getting closer in the PF column. Next week is a must win against the best team in the league.

10. This Justin: I Love Justin (3-3)

Owner – Matt Lord

Last Week – #5

After three straight wins to start the season, this team has averaged the least points per game through weeks 4-6, and has paid the price in three straight losses. Though the Panthers went into OT this week against the Vikings, Matt’s team got absolutely dog-walked in week 6 by almost 50 points. As part a subgroup of the 3-3 teams trending downwards, this is not a time to perform poorly, especially with bye weeks on the horizon. As a side note – the Panthers have also lost 3 straight (just like Matt’s team). The Panthers play the Giants next week on the road, so I’m projecting a Matt win against Vikas in Week 7.

Award – Deep Throat of the Week/Dumpster Fire of the Week

11. Score a TD Boston (3-3)

Owner – Nikhil Ramanan

Last Week – #9

Probably the most heartbreaking loss of the week, a win was really needed in week 6 to continue some of the momentum from the 3-game win streak. However, this team ranks near the bottom in points for as well as ATL since week, pretty similar to Matt’s struggling team as well. With upcoming bye weeks, a plethora of injuries, shallow bench, the outlook is not great to regain the momentum from the earlier part of the season. The best times for this team may be behind already, however, being 3-3 is not a terrible place to be near the midpoints of the season.

12. Chasing my First Win (0-6)

Owner – Vikas Molleti

Last Week – #12

Welcome children, as I tell you a story as old as time itself – Vikas getting boned in the points against column. The only thing that Vikas needs to do now is hold a press conference and make himself cry like Dan Campbell. Like the Lions, who cover the spread only to blow everything up on field goals, Vikas has started inventing new and innovative ways to lose games, this week by having by far the best player in the league, Cordarrelle Patterson, being on a bye and starting Gio Bernard in his place. The outlook is also not positive in Motor-mouth city, ranking as one of the worst teams ATL since week 4, suggesting that the best days are already gone. However, all teams are dangerous, but projections are not great for making the playoffs.
